Lab Turquoise & Opal">
$250.00
Cathy Webster - Navajo - Stoneweaver Shop - Native American Indian Jewelry
Handmade. Lovely mix of colors, opal & blue center with green flanks. I don't get a lot of sets but I really liked this one.
I picked this up in August of 2015, Stoneweaver had been testing a variety of stones due to cost and availability issues of traditional. Honestly, I don't know, for sure, what the green is. It could be turquoise, but I think it is variscite.
What is "lab turquoise", you may ask. It is chemically identical to naturally occurring turquoise, but it is created in a laboratory. It is classified as a gemstone. It has been promoted as more ecologically conscious than mining. Stoneweaver used lab turquoise, off and on, for a couple of years.
I picked this set up because of the rich, pure colors, I thought it was attractive and very reasonable for Cathy's work. Rubber clutches included to prevent loss of earrings
