Artie Yellowhorse, Navajo - New Mexico, USA

These are some of the most unique and stunning earrings I have ever seen.  Cabochons of natural Pietersite/Pietercite consisting of abstract sections of fibrous chatoyant olives and greys mixed with brown/gold. It is set in incredibly consistent handmade silver beads.

This is one of my favorite stones but historically Artie has been out of it when I am in New Mexico (I prefer to choose my own pieces). Summer of '17 found me picking through a tray a raw stones. I had them make cuffs, pendants, earrings, and rings.

I've had both gold/brown dominant and blue dominant variations.

This is one of my favorite stones but it is both hard to get and expensive. I was fortunate enough in summer of '17 to pick through a tray a raw stones. I had them make cuffs, pendants, earrings, and rings. I've had both gold/brown dominant and blue dominant variations.  I've been trying to sprinkle what have throughout the year.  I still have a few items that remain un-posted.

First found in 1962, there are only two known sources of Pietersite in the world, Africa and China.

Please don't ask me which picture represents the earrings best, they all do, it's totally light and angle dependent.

The accompanying photos show the piece under a variety of light conditions.  Unfortunately the beauty of the chatoyance cannot be adequately represented.

I've NEVER had someone tell me the pictures of Pietersite looked better than the item.

Check the dimensions-the photos are extreme close-ups
The photos are often MUCH larger than the actual piece
