Artie Yellowhorse, Navajo - New Mexico, USA
A good-sized, narrow free form oval of natural Pietersite/Pietercite consisting of abstract sections of deep blue/black and heavily fibrous chatoyant light grey-blue andsome golds.
The photos were taken under different light levels and angles.
First found in 1962, there are only two known sources of Pietersite in the world, Africa and China.
It's difficult to accurately photograph due to color shifts in every variation of light. These photos show the piece under a variety of light conditions. Unfortunately the beauty of the chatoyance is not adequately represented.
I have some pieces in pendants, rings , and earrings in gold/brown dominant and blue dominant variations.
