Artie Yellowhorse , Navajo - New Mexico, USA
***One of a Kind - Collector Grade***
Eye Popping! This defies a fair description and the photos just can't show how beautiful this is. Natural Pietersite/Pietercite consisting of abstract sections of deep brown/gold and heavily fibrous chatoyant light gold, and olive. It looks like one those amazing photos from the Hubbell telescope of a swirling cosmos in far outer space.
This features a perimeter of handmade silver beads.
If you are a collector, you should give this piece serious consideration; it's not as if you are likely to see something like this anytime soon.
This is one of my favorite stones, Artie has been getting more but it never seems to be enough
First found in 1962, there are only two known sources of Pietersite in the world, Africa and China.
It's almost impossible to accurately photograph because the color shifts in every variation of light and viewing angle. The accompanying photos show the piece under a varying of light levels. Unfortunately the beauty of the chatoyance cannot be adequately represented.
I've NEVER had someone tell me the pictures of Pietersite looked better than the item.
