***ONE OF A KIND***

Fantastic piece of picture jasper from Biggs Junction, Oregon. The area where this was obtained is now in a State Park and will no longer be mined.  What beautiful shades of brown!  Picture Jasper usually has some kind of scenic quality to it, I think this looks a bit like a mountain range.  This can be worn in either orientation with different visual results.  Mounted in Artie's signature handmade silver beaded setting.

Jasper stones are an opaque form of chalcedony. Jasper has organic material and or mineral oxides such as iron oxide, which contribute to the unique colors and patterns. The stone is often named for its colors,  patterns, and/or its location.

Artie has been designing sophisticated jewelry for years. Jewelry work has been in the Yellowhorse family for generations. Her two daughters, Desiree and Lei Lani  are active members of the business.  Artie's designs are executed by other Native American jewelers, including her daughter's, Artie no longer fabricates.

Remember to check the dimensions-the photos are extreme close-ups
The photos are often MUCH larger than the actual piece
