Artie has been designing and making sophisticated jewelry for years. Jewelry artistry has been in the Yellowhorse family for three generations. The many artists bearing the Yellowhorse name are related (mostly Artie's nephews).
Artie's two daughters, Desiree and Lei Lani are active members of the business participating in design, fabrication, sales, and the operational aspects of the business.
Artie no longer fabricates the pieces herself but employs a staff of hand-picked extremely proficient Navajo silver smiths who, along with Desiree and Lei Lani, execute the actual work.
These people have become very dear to me. I so look forward to spending time with them. They are funny, sweet, smart, and very talented.
Artie has served as a judge many times at Santa Fe Indian Market and is a past member of the board of IACA (Indian Arts & Crafts Association).
If you see something previously sold that interests you, e-mail me (see comments below about pre-requests getting first dibs); it may be in stock or possibly something similar could be made. I own a large number of Yellowhorse pieces and continue posting them as time allows.
