Michael Kirk (Isleta Pueblo/Navajo) - New Mexico, USA 1949 -
Stunning Argentium Sterling silver feather etched and inlaid with Sleeping Beauty turquoise and opal.
Michael is a renowned artist who has been active since 1971. He is the younger brother of the late, great Andy Lee Kirk. who was his teacher. Michael is the father of Melanie Kirk-Lente who is coming into her own as an artist. Michael served in the Marine Corps in Vietnam (Semper Fi, Michael.) He attended New Mexico Community College and University of New Mexico.
He has won awards at SF Indian Market, Inter-tribal Indian Ceremonial, Gallup, Heard Museum, and IACA. He works in silver, gold, engraving, and inlay. Michael does some very high end work but he still makes some pieces than are within the reach of most of us.
