3/4" Bracelet - Cuff
Handmade Feather Design
Argentium Sterling Silver
Size 6-1/2"

Michael Kirk, Isleta/Navajo Jewelry New Mexico, USA  1949 -

I got this beautiful cuff from Michael in November of 2011.  It was the first piece I owned of Argentium Sterling Silver.  Argentium is a purer silver than standard.925.  It has more silver, less copper, and the addition of germanium which greatly reduces firestain and tarnish. This results in a much brighter piece.  If you like dull, don't buy Argentium.

This is one of many items that have languished in my back stock and I'm just getting around to posting.   This is  more detailed and refined than Michael's more recent linear cut work. Either way, the work is totally handmade and distinctive.

Michael started making jewelry in 1971 after returning home from service in Vietnam with the USMC. (Sempi Fi, Michael)  He learned from his older brother, the late great Andy Lee Kirk (1947 - 2001).  His list of awards is very impressive.  Much of his work runs into the multiple thousands of dollars so it is nice to have some price accessible pieces.

Both his daughter Elizabeth and his niece Melanie Kirk-(Lente) make jewelry.
