Mary Tom (Mary Lou Tom), Navajo
Award winning artist. Beautiful handmade pendant. This round disc bead is the same as the ones Mary makes for her famous necklaces (see elsewhere on this site). This is totally handmade.
This signature design of Mary's is instantly recognizable, having won many awards and been featured in multiple books on Native American jewelry.
She's not real fond of making small pieces like this, she usually does sets.
Mary is a lovely person, great fun. You will often see her name in association with her former husband Jack, they now work independently. This summer (2018), Mary won First Place for necklaces at Santa Fe Indian Market. She always sells out or comes close to it - VERY IMPRESSIVE when you consider there were 1000 other artists from whom people could purchase.
