Lena Platero, Navajo
Her signature work is feathers. Silver, gold, and a mix. Earrings, necklaces, pendants, pins, bracelets, she is a master of them all.
Lena has been active since the 1970's. She has experienced some pretty serious health issues the last few years, off and on, but is producing. Some of her newer work appears to be significantly simpler than her previous work (larger and fewer cuts and fewer curved cuts). This is likely a concession to what her hands will allow her to do these days. Her work is still wonderful and distinct.
