Wil Vandever, Navajo - New Mexico, USA
Wil finally lost his battle with colon cancer in October of 2018.
Wil's work was very close to my heart. His distinct style with wire coil, twist wire, saw cuts, and stamping - were all handmade. He has always been known for utilizing excellent stones, which is more difficult and expensive all the time.
In December 2017, I purchased the last batch of bracelets and pendants that I know he was able to produce. I sold some immediately but am now finally getting around to photographing and putting up what is remains. He felt an obligation to family and friends to whom he sold to keep producing. According to his wife, Cora, he did manage to make a few more things, here and there, but it finally just became too much, he just wasn't physically up to it.
