Artist/Source: Glenda Loretto - Navajo, New Mexico, USA
Description: Beautiful, mix of handcrafted and handmade work. Faceted dyed purple agate beads, offset with sterling silver beads. Features a pear shaped druzy quartz pendant (non-removable). The druzy setting is handmade sterling silver bezel and backing with twist wire design perimeter and three 18k gold beads as an accent at the bottom.
I purchased this from Glenda at Santa Fe Indian Market 2014 along with one of her signature cedar branch necklaces (not posted yet - sorry). I was pleased that Glenda let me buy early in the show as I really wanted this piece.
Unfortunately this is one of those works where my poor photographic skills do not do justice to the piece. I shot the druzy and the beads from different angles and under varied lighting angles but I have not captured the overall effect of this necklace. The druzy is constantly shifting colors and the facets of the agate beads catch a myriad of highlights and reflections. "Purple people" (you know who you are-Betty and Maria) will find themselves drawn to this one. I also love that she added the gold accent which makes the piece compatible with more things.
Remember to check the dimensions-the photos are extreme close-ups
