Jonathan Nez Navajo - New Mexico
A WOW, statement piece by a renowned artist. This is a unique departure from Jonathan's signature graduated bead design. That said, the beads are there, both in the bail and the perimeter of the bezel surrounding the huge Royston Turquoise cabochon. The photos were taken with different light accents to allow you to examine the stone.
Can YOU rock this? Don't expect to see a bunch of these. Yellowhorse sometimes carries Jonathan's work but had never seen this before. I circled back and forth on this piece for two days and then decided the time to buy unique is when you see unique.
Since acquiring this piece, I managed to get a similar piece in Lapis. It isn't posted yet, if you are interested, email us at nativesilverandstone@gmail.com.
Click on Jonathan's name, above, to see anything else of his I may have posted.
Jonathan is quite active in Native public service, serving with his Chapter House. He is the brother of noted jeweler Leonard Nez and brother-in-law to Peter Nelson.
